The Winter Machine
And it felt like a winter machine
That you go through and then
You catch your breath and winter starts again
And everyone else is spring bound.
Four weeks to elections. Everybody get out the vote, ok?
That you go through and then
You catch your breath and winter starts again
And everyone else is spring bound.
Dar Williams, After All
Four weeks to elections. Everybody get out the vote, ok?

And then the snow,
And then the snow came, we were always out shoveling,
And wed drop to sleep exhausted,
Then we'd wake up, and its snowing...
There is a reason for believing in the seasons,
To know that spring will always come around.
It's to begin again, though there seems no means to this end,
Before one lays her body down.
Things that die and wither soon, will find there roots and tiller,
To gather strength beneath the ground.
(Mica Lee William, A life Profound)
Hi! Mica Lee Williams here. The lyrics actually go:
It's to begin again, though there seems no means to this end,
Before one lays a body down.
Things that die and wither soon will find new roots and tether,
To gather strength beneath the ground.
But I actually have changed the lyrics to "dreams that die" instead of "things."
Cheers and thanks for quoting my song!
